App permissions

Microphone
The microphone, or another audio input, is used only when you record from it.

Files
Files are accessed for loading and saving your sets, styles, rhythms, instruments, songs and recordings. They stay on your computer.

When it goes online

Music Studio works offline. It goes online for two things only:

Updates: when “Check for Updates at Start” is on (Options › General), it checks sofeh.com for a new version.

Usage statistics: each time it starts, it sends sofeh.com a small anonymous report, so we know how many people use it and on what kind of computers. It contains a random installation ID created by the app, the app’s version, and facts about the computer: the Windows version, the processor, the amount of memory, the graphics card and its memory, the screen resolution and scaling, and whether the app is the 32- or 64-bit version. Your country is worked out from the connection; the IP address is not stored with the report. You can turn it off at any time in Options › General › “Send anonymous usage statistics”.

These reports never contain your name, your email address, your files or projects, or anything you play or record. The app uses no third-party services that collect information.

Security

We value your trust in providing us with your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

These services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.
